Hello. I haven't written a real blog for quite a while now, so I figured I'd jump back in with an update about my trip to Pennsylvania.
So far, I've been to Pittsburgh 3 times (which is about a 2 hour trips between Pitt and Johnstown, where my family lives and we were driving there and back in one day.....for 3.5 days straight.) That took up Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Saturday, my 67 year old uncle finally married his high school sweetheart who reunited about 8 years ago. It was pretty cute. My Aunt Arlene (weird to say that now!) helped my uncle through some very difficult times such as when my uncle lost his left leg to diabetes about 4 years ago, and when his son discovered he had AIDS due to his constant drug use and gay lifestyle. And when my uncle's son tried to kill himself with blood thinners. I'm so happy that they can finally come together and get married. My uncle was stuck in an marriage that had technically ended about 15 years ago when his wife ditched him and their 3 sons to be with another man. She refused to get a divorce and blah blah blah, they finally divorced last July.
But Saturday night came and that was a completely different event than a cheerful wedding. My 17 year old cousin invited me to his house for a party with 20 or 30 random kids from his school. They were all guys, except for 2 girls who SHOWED UP drunk, and continued drinking by hiding their beer in their jackets, thinking no one noticed. Then they ended the night by asking guys how much they would pay to see the two girls make out. Then they smoked and went home. I went through 4 hours of rap music and people asking me if I want to smoke pot and snort some crack with them. Then the night did turn out good for me when I destroyed 6 guys at poker.
Aww, but now it's Sunday and I went to church, then saw my grandma, and now I just finished a delicious dinner prepared by my Aunt Liz.
